Here we are, in San Pedro, hiking down to the "Sunken City".
I had heard about this place for so long, but had no idea that it completely would blow my mind.
Just spectacular.
In 1929 a section of land in the southern tip of San Pedro began to slip into the sea,
and continued to slip until 1930's.
All but two houses were moved before falling into the sea. But the roads and railroad all sunk.
Now, this area is fenced in, but you can sneak in.
Cooper actually shot a cover photo for a magazine down here a couple of years ago.
All the big chunks with grafitti on them are asphalt, and what used to be the roads.
Such a beautiful disaster.
