Sound mania

For two days I've been interviewing Swedish Oscar winning Hollywood sound designers.. Paul N.J. Ottosson från Bromölla and Per Hallberg från Öland. It's been such a treat to hear about the secrets of the sound of the big films..
Per Hallberg won Oscars for Braveheart and The Bourne Ultimatum. I filmed and interviewed him in his the Todd-AO West Studios in Santa Monica. His favorite sound is a swooshing Gunnebo-nät.
Paul NJ Ottosson won Oscars a few weeks ago for the sound editing and sound mixing of the amazing film Hurt Locker. It's a strong film about the guys disarming bombs in Iraq.
For this interview I got to work with a Swedish camera man, Per, who's been here for 25 yrs. It's been super fun days, the stories will be aired at SVT's Kobra very soon.

Overlooking the Culver Studios, used for film and TV, where Paul has his office. The white main building is the mansion from Gone with The Wind.

Per taking exterior shots from the roof of a parking structure.

Yes...yes!! I got to hold them..the real Oscars. And they are heavy!! Mighty!
