Here are some more Oahu pics!

Oahu, where our trip began. On the north shore is this legendary surf spot called Pipeline. We brought a coconut and placed ourselves front row to check out the gigantic waves and brave surfers.
I would not dip one toe in the ocean here, this time of the year the water is very violent...

This is the path that leads down to one of our favorite beaches, Kawela bay, where there was almost no people and lots of turtles to see and walk up to in the water.

I hung my camera in a tree and put on the self timer to get this bjuuuutifuuuul pic of us.

Ka'ena Point. As far north west as you can get on Oahu. There is ocean on both sides. We actually made it here twice. Once by driving off road on the north side, and once by hiking here from where to road ends on the west side.

Another favorite place we tried going to more than one time is Goat Island. Right outside La'ie on Oahus north east side. You just have to walk some rough uneaven rocks to get there. You wade out in the water from the beach you see in the background. The water isn't too deep, but some waves really try to knock you off your feet. So you wear water shoes and try not to fall! It was so worth it,  the water and the beach on Goat Island was so amazing.

Cooper got the honor of carrying our cameras and stuff out to the island.

Oahu has fewer waterfalls than Kauai. This is one of them, we hiked to Maunawili Falls.

Hanauma Bay, the best snorkeling on the island. Unfortunately you have to pay a few bucks to snorkel and access the beach. And later on we found snorkeling way better for free on Kauai.

This is Waikiki, the big city, where we never went. But at least we got this view of it from the Diamond Head, a viewpoint at a crater which you hike up to.

People live right on the beach in Oahu, there seems to be no limit to how close to the water you can build a house.

All these amazing fruit stands and coconut stands by the road, I'll miss them.

Everyday we brought lunch with us, I'm probably the best sandwich maker ever.

Cooper hanging out with our friend, the three legged turtle, at Kawela bay.

Our last day in Oahu we spent at Pearl Harbour. This giant ship was visiting the harbour and some of the sailors were visiting the USS Arizona memorial site.

The USS Arizona was the biggest ship in the navy and lost about 1800 people in the attack.

This is the memorial site that sits right on top of the sunken Arizona. You can see parts of the ship under you and some pieces are sticking out of the water.

USS Arizona under water. And it's also a grave since most of the men weren't taken out of the shiop.

Cooper enjoying a sunset on the south shore.

Cooper making a face as always.

Me trying.

A nice Mexican restaurant with good Margheritas.

Cooper cooking oysters, shrimp and asparagus on the beach.

A grilled oyster! Tasted as good as ever in the sunset!

Sunset on Kawela beach.

Just picking up some fresh fruit...
